Stem Wall Failure Symptoms: Flaking Paint
One of the first signs of stem wall failure is flaking paint. Most people might think the reason for flaking paint is overexposure to heat and sun. Those are valid reasons; however, flaking paint can also mean a symptom of stem fall failure.
Stem Wall Failure Symptoms: Concrete Cracks
Other great examples of stem wall failure are concrete cracks on the stem wall. Concrete cracks start to appear when the concrete of the stem wall gets too much exposure to moisture. When there is an over-exposure to water or moisture, it causes the concrete to change its PH and crack the stem wall from the inside out.
Stem Wall Failure Symptoms: Spalling Concrete
When concrete changed its PH, it becomes more acidic. The outcome of becoming more acid provokes rust production, starting the oxidation process for the rebar and all its components. Eventually, rust production will expand so much that there will be spalling concrete all over the stem wall.
Stem Wall Failure Symptoms: Indoor Foundation Cracks
As you can see in the image, This is a slab crack in the inside of the house. The concrete cracks are even touching the wall, and it looks very deep too. This concrete crack means that the structure of the foundation is at risk since the rebar is supposed to connect the floor with the walls.
NeveRust™ Installation: Protecting Surroundings
As seen in this picture, our professionals take pride in taking care of the surroundings of the household. The least we want to do is to affect in any undesired way the surroundings of the house. Sometimes the Owners have gravel or even grass right next to the Jobsite where we are performing the job, so we make sure of being conscious about it. In this photo, plastic sheeting is being used to protect anything closed to the area.
