Concrete Cracks: Symptoms & Causes
Concrete cracks can show up for many reasons. Sometimes it can be because of an earthquake and sometimes because of a foundation problem. Foundation problems can get presented as heaves or settlements. A heave is where there was too much exposure to moisture that caused the clay soil to expand and push the floor upwards, cracking it on the way. The other possibility is a settlement problem where the clay soil has a low moisture level causing the clay to shrink and affect the whole foundation of the house as a result.
Crack Stitching System: Cutting & Filling
Once the main problem gets identified, it is time to take action. one of the first things to do is make some non-parallel cuts over the concrete crack to add some carbon fiber laminates. The second step would be to add a low viscosity material to seal the concrete cracks adequately.
Crack Stitching System: Result
When all the fresh material, including the low viscosity liquid added to the concrete crack, gets dried, it is time to polish the surface to get rid of any irregularities and imperfections. By the time the surface of the floor gets polished, the concrete should disappear, as shown in the picture.
