Underpinning in Duncan, AZ
Underpinning is the process of installing deep foundation elements called piles. Piles are engineered foundation supports that are driven down past the unstable soils and are then locked up into load bearing strata, which can support the loads that are transferred to them.
Excavation
The crew dug holes around this portion of the home so the piles could be spaced approximately six to eight feet apart.

After the pile is driven into the ground the Supportworks bracket is placed securely on top.

Here you see another installed pier and bracket. For this hole you can see the crew had to cut out some concrete in order to dig the hole
Filling It In
Filling It In After every pile is installed the final step is to backfill all holes. This includes any concrete that had to cut out.
