Effects of Moisture on Stem Wall

This photo shows that having your property built up over clay soil causes the clay to expand and shrink depending on how much moisture the soil was exposed to. The exposure will create an impact on the walls and the concrete by making the concrete go from having an alkaline PH to an acid PH due to water. This will produce iron rust which will grow fast and eventually will crack the concrete from the inside out.
